Edna Longley is an eminent academic and critic who has taught for many years at Queen's University, Belfast. Collections of her criticism, including Poetry Between the Wars (1986), The Living Stream (1994) and Poetry and Posterity (2000), are some of the most important interventions in contemporary Irish poetry criticism.
